Modest fashion is the base for what we do here at chaotic elegance. Though it’s easy to recommend going to traditional stores to find modest clothing, it is convenient to go to stores that carry modest clothing exclusively. As a native Utahn, I am well acquainted with modest fashion brands both at the mall and online.
My original first modest shop was Downeast, they carry modest clothing that is fashionable and fun. As I left high school, Called to Surf rose to prominence here in Utah. I loved the fun tops, motorcycle leggings, and pretty dresses. Interestingly, I prefer to go to regular shops and find modest clothing. For my spring shopping, I went to tj maxx and found lots of cute options. I also really like local curated thrift spots, like uptown cheapskate and indy clover, as they are less expensive and in many ways clothing styles I prefer. Modest fashion is more complicated than I ever realized. Muslim women dress in a way that I never have, beautiful, but so different from what I am used to. Modest fashion brand collections span a wide range from full coverage to tops with no sleeves. Beyond the clothes, modest fashion is consistently a cultural and religious choice. Utah is full of bermuda shorts, modest clothing brands, and temple appropriate dresses.
Modest style truly is a personal choice. While fashion does not matter to all, it matters to me and you, as you are reading this. I recently discussed this with a friend. She said that fashion is a form of art and expression. It may not save lives the way an EMT would. It may not end wars or fix a quarrel. But fashion is significant. Fashion is truly art.
